Our People

As part of the Finance team, Nomuna is responsible for supporting all accounting-related tasks, including Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables. Nomuna focuses on continuous system implementations and process improvements.    

Before joining BSR, Nomuna worked in accounting at a security surveillance company that designed, manufactured, and marketed security, surveillance camera, and video surveillance systems. There, she oversaw general accounting tasks.

Nomuna holds a BA in Accounting from Mongol Institute and an AA with an emphasis in Business Economy from Wilbur Wright College.

Lindsey works at the intersection of technology and human rights, helping both tech and non-tech companies identify and address human rights impacts associated with the development and use of technology, and effectively incorporate business and human rights practices. Her focus areas include content governance, end-use risks of tech products and services, and the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies.

Prior to joining BSR, Lindsey worked with digital rights organization Access Now to drive the conversation on the human rights implications of AI. As part of this, she wrote the foundational report Human Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. Lindsey previously worked at Internews, implementing a large portfolio of internet freedom projects across Latin America, which focused on equipping journalists and human rights defenders with digital security skills and defending the free and open internet. Lindsey has worked and lived across Latin America and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Lindsey holds a Master’s in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University and a BA in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Faraz works with BSR’s technology member companies to prevent, manage, and report on human rights impacts across their value chains. He supports companies in conducting human rights due diligence to understand supply chain impacts, downstream end-user risks, and requirements under regulatory regimes such as the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Act. Faraz has particular expertise in supporting social media platforms to operationalize rights-respecting approaches to content moderation.​

Prior to BSR, Faraz worked on digital rights campaigns as an Advocacy Fellow at Access Now. Previously, he worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Human Rights Initiative, where he researched business, human rights, and technology.​

Faraz holds an MA from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in International Law, Economic Policy, and South Asia Studies, and a BA from The Ohio State University in International Relations and Economics.

Ameer leads BSR’s climate work in the US and works closely with BSR’s Technology sector companies.

Ameer helps BSR members develop strategies to implement the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and enhance business resilience through climate risk assessment using climate scenario analysis and planning. He also works with BSR member companies on developing resilient and sustainable value chains.

Ameer was previously working with BSR’s Financial Services sector companies and led the Business Alliance to Scale Climate Solutions, a BSR carbon markets collaborative initiative now known as the Beyond Alliance.

Prior to joining BSR, Ameer was the chief financial economist at Climate Advisers Trust and Orbitas, where he conducted research on climate scenario analysis and financial research for the agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU) sector and engaged institutional investors on deforestation risks in investment portfolios. Ameer also brings over a decade of capital markets experience at financial institutions like ABN Amro, Citi, and Barclays Bank.

Ameer holds a MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a BA in Economics and Government from College of William and Mary

Ricki supports BSR’s work on collaborations, with a focus on those related to supply chain sustainability. Her engagements focus on opportunities to scale impact on supply chains through shared learning, common approaches, and coordinated action.

Ricki has extensive experience managing and overseeing BSR’s collaborations on sustainable sourcing of commodities, with a particular focus on consumer sectors industries and agriculture-based supply chains.

She also brings many years of strategy consulting experience, with strong ability to design and execute research, draw business insights, and develop corporate strategies.

Ricki holds a BS in Development Sociology from Cornell University.

Hugh is the Global Head of BSR’s Financial Services practice and partners with public and private companies across sectors.

He advises institutional investors, corporations, and other capital market participants on corporate strategy, sustainability, investment value creation strategy, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. 

Prior to joining BSR, Hugh was a senior director at Ceres, where he led investor engagement with global institutional investors representing over US$20 trillion in assets under management (AUM). Hugh managed research and analysis linking climate risks including land use change and water risks to investment portfolios and company supply chains to help investors and companies manage sustainability impacts and opportunities.  

Hugh has over 15 years of investment management expertise in various roles. At the $250 billion AUM Florida State Board of Administration, he worked on corporate governance, liquidity cash management, risk management across asset classes, and portfolio value creation strategy. He also worked at Morgan Stanley, where he provided investment management and consulting services to municipal entities.  

Hugh is a veteran of the US Air Force. He holds a BA in History and International Affairs from Florida State University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.  

Matthew is responsible for creating and overseeing internal processes related to BSR member services.

In addition, he provides support to BSR’s Executive Committee and Operations Committee. Prior to moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, Matthew was the office manager of BSR’s New York office. In this position, he was the primary liason between the finance, human resources, and IT teams, and he supported the Healthcare Working Group and the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative. During his time in New York, Matthew also oversaw two office moves.

Before joining BSR, Matthew lived and worked in France as a translator and English teacher. He moved from Europe to San Diego in 2005 and worked there as an office manager.

Matthew holds an M.A. in French and Translation Studies from the University of Manchester.

Lucia supports members across industries on climate change and nature, including climate scenario analysis, peer benchmarking, sustainability management, and data analysis. 

Previously, Lucia interned at the World Wildlife Fund-US as an Agricultural Sustainability Analyst. There, she researched agro-commodity and bioplastic feedstock supply chain risks. At Evergrade, Inc., Lucia was a Consultant and Intern Manager focused on people and project management, data architecture and analysis, and environmental impact research. Through her coursework at UC Berkeley, Lucia was a Sustainability Consultant with the Clorox Company and a Data Science Research Apprentice for the CoolClimate Network, where she collaborated on a quantitative methodology for assessing the greenhouse gas reduction potential of carbon credits. 

Lucia studied business administration and data science at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She completed a semester exchange at the Universitat de Barcelona, where she studied international marketing and corporate finance. 

Hannah works with companies that develop and deploy technology to integrate human rights-based approaches into their policies, products, and strategies. She specializes in conducting human rights due diligence on emerging technologies, such as generative AI, affective tech, facial recognition, and surveillance, and in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to children in digital environments.

She has worked extensively with companies to prepare for and comply with human rights-related regulatory requirements in alignment with the OECD Guidelines and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. This includes conducting and reviewing risk assessments under the EU Digital Services Act and the UK's Online Safety Act, as well as preparing for forthcoming obligations under the EU AI Act, CSDDD, and CSRD.

Prior to joining BSR, Hannah worked at the Skoll Foundation and spent several years working in anti-human trafficking. 

Hannah holds a Master’s in NGOs and Development with a specialization in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and a B.A. in Political Science and French from the University of Michigan.

Laura leads BSR’s Nature team. Her focus is working with member companies to develop holistic and credible strategic approaches to address nature related impacts and dependencies. These engagements are conducted across industries, with an additional focus on understanding the linkages between nature and other areas of focus (e.g., human rights, climate, etc.).

Prior to joining BSR, Laura spent seven years on the markets transformation team at the Rainforest Alliance. Her role focused on engaging companies throughout agriculture supply chains in addressing risks and opportunities through incorporating nature-based solutions and interventions. This included working with companies from farm to market on their sustainability strategy utilizing the Rainforest Alliance program. Laura also has experience in the beauty industry, where she worked in brand management and marketing.

Laura holds a Master of Communication Management from the University of Southern California and a BS in Business Administration from Boston University.

Orissa helps companies identify, address, and report on the human and child rights impacts of their technology products and services. She also works with governmental and civil society partners to develop tools and best practices for industry. ​

As a core member of our child rights team, Orissa led BSR’s collaboration with UNICEF to develop a Child Rights Impact Assessment (CRIA) methodology for companies developing or deploying technology products. She also worked with UNICEF to design a first-of-its-kind set of disclosures on child rights impacts that companies can incorporate into public reporting. ​

Orissa conducts CRIAs for large platforms and AI products and supports companies with integrating child rights considerations into systemic risk assessments. She also leads child engagement activities and advises companies on how to design reporting mechanisms that are accessible to children and aligned with human rights principles and relevant technology regulations. When not working on child rights, Orissa assesses systemic risks per the EU DSA, the human rights impacts of Generative AI and cloud technologies, and helps member companies implement their human rights priorities. ​

Orissa earned an MS in Information Management and Systems from UC Berkeley and a BA in History with honors from Scripps College.

Bridgett supports BSR’s Financial Services team on sustainable finance and impact investing, and she works at the intersection of finance and human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Bridgett worked for over a decade as a securities regulatory attorney at the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions. She handled a variety of compliance cases involving investment advisers, broker-dealers, and securities offerings. Bridgett is the Chair of the Washington State Bar Association, World Peace Through Law section.

Bridgett holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington, a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, and an LL.M. in Sustainable International Development from the University of Washington School of Law.

Adam works with BSR member companies across industries on sustainability management, including stakeholder engagement, materiality, strategy and reporting, among other topics.

Prior to BSR, Adam was a thematic expert on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the International Institute for Sustainable Development, focusing on the linkages between climate, development, business, and sustainable consumption and production. He previously worked on the SDGs team at World Resources Institute. During his graduate studies, Adam interned at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and was a Coca-Cola World Fund fellow with Conservation International, researching the strategic connections between the SDGs and corporate sustainability.

Adam holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, specializing in Business and the Environment. He has a BA in Environmental Studies and Government, with a concentration in International Politics, from Wesleyan University.

As part of BSR’s Finance team, Katrina is responsible for streamlining processes, enhancing reports, and analyzing key performance metrics on a monthly basis. She focuses on general project accounting and systems tools.

Katrina previously worked at a private transportation company managing the accounting department. There, she led all daily and monthly general ledger processes, converted the department to paperless billing and filing, and implemented an accounting systems conversion. Prior to that, she managed accounts payable and expense processing in advertising.

Katrina has a B.A. in Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She speaks fluent MS Excel.

Kelly helps technology companies achieve their sustainability goals, with a focus on supporting high-growth companies in embedding resilient and inclusive practices that both support business strategy while addressing societal and environmental impacts. Through BSR’s Business Transformation advisory service offerings, Kelly works with members to prioritize material sustainability issues, develop issue-specific strategies, set ambitious yet realistic goals, and communicate sustainability initiatives to key stakeholders.

Prior to BSR, Kelly spent more than six years consulting on energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy for California’s utilities and public-sector clients. She has also served as a Board Member for the US National Committee for UN Women, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter and Spark, a non-profit that seeks to advance gender equality by engaging the next generation in accessible forms of philanthropy.

Kelly holds a MA in International Relations from San Francisco State University and a BA in Global Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Scarlet is part of BSR’s Business Transformation team with a focus on the technology sector. She primarily works with technology companies to provide BSR’s consulting service offerings related to materiality, strategy, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability reporting with some focus on Inclusive Business.

Prior to joining BSR, Scarlet worked for Oxford Insights, where she worked with private, public, and third sector clients on a range of topics, including mainstreaming sustainability. She created two frameworks for monitoring and evaluating progress in gender equality and social inclusion practices and policies in procurement that several governments have used. Scarlet also represented Oxford Insights at speaking engagements, including presenting at two UNESCO conferences and participating in the UN Global Pulse initiative on big data and AI.

Scarlet holds a BA in Politics and International Relations from the University of Kent and a MA in Middle East and Islam and International Affairs from the American University of Paris.

Chhavi oversees BSR’s relationships with governments and foundations in North America, where he seeks to create cross-sector partnerships between the private sector and donors to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

Prior to joining BSR, Chhavi worked for a socially responsible investment firm, where he combined financial and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) analysis to make sustainable investment recommendations. He also spent several years as an operations manager for Oracle’s Asia-Pacific and Americas regions, opening a new operation in India. He also developed a CSR strategy for a spirits company in Mexico, developed sustainability reports for companies in India and Saudi Arabia, and worked as a freelance CSR consultant for the Institute of Public Health. He speaks English, Spanish, and Hindi.

Chhavi holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business and an M.A. in International Studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a B.A. in English and Computer Science from Rutgers University.

Emma Giloth leads BSR's Living Wage practice. She works at the intersection of human rights; food, beverage, and agriculture; consumer marketing; and ethical supply chains.

Emma leads human rights impact and risk assessments, and guides companies on supply chain due diligence and responsible purchasing practices. As lead on BSR's Living Wage practice, she supports companies to activate and manage their Living Wage programs for their owned operations and to build strategies to ensure workers across their supply chains are paid sufficiently.

Prior to BSR, Emma worked in the consumer-packaged goods industry, where she specialized in ethical sourcing of climate-smart ingredients from farmers. A social entrepreneur at heart, she previously co-founded a sustainable natural products brand in Senegal, and continues to work as an advisor to several African brands.

Laura is a global expert on corporate sustainability, with two decades of experience in strategy consulting and has advised senior executives at global companies across a range of industry sectors and sustainability issues.

As Chief Impact Officer (CIO), the first in the organization’s 30-year history, Laura focuses on maximizing the impact of BSR’s work with its network of over 300 members, both through direct engagement on project work and as a mentor for teams throughout the organization. She also oversees BSR’s Collaborative Initiatives and Membership, and is a recognized thought leader and innovator in strategic business.

She has been an instrumental leader in BSR’s organizational growth and impact. She launched BSR’s financial services practice and New York office, and she served as Chief Operating Officer for five years, leveraging her strengths in strategy, organizational change, and people management. Laura works with leading global companies to develop and enhance their sustainability strategies to maximize value for business and society, and she is sought after to facilitate senior-level strategy workshops and multi-stakeholder collaborations.

She previously worked for Deloitte Consulting, where she acquired extensive strategy experience advising multinational financial services companies. She also worked on several community and economic development projects in Latin America.

Laura holds a MBA from Stanford University and a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. She is an adjunct professor in the Bard MBA in Sustainability program, a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and a member of the UN Global Compact Expert Network.

Jarrid is a director for BSR’s Inclusive Business Practice.

He supports leaders of global companies in their efforts to build inclusive organizations; navigate emerging industry and policy trends/flashpoints; and achieve strategic community and social impact. Jarrid also partners with philanthropic organizations including foundations and nonprofit intermediaries to identify opportunities to harness business influence for greater societal good.

Prior to joining BSR, Jarrid worked at Freedman Consulting, where he developed and managed strategic philanthropic initiatives, including donor coalitions and nonprofit initiatives focused on racial and civic justice issues, climate/sustainability impacts, and public health. Jarrid has also served in senior research and project management capacities at The Democracy Collaborative and The Center for Social Inclusion, where he led, supported, and published policy research and case studies focused on opportunities to dismantle structural racial inequities within community and economic development fields and practices.

Jarrid received his MBA in Sustainability from Bard College where he served as an inaugural member of the program’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Advisory Board and provided advisory support and instruction to first- and second-year MBA students in his role as a part-time faculty member for the college’s experiential-learning, sustainability consulting course NYCLab. In 2024, he received a Certificate in AI Essentials for Business from Harvard Business School Online.

Jarrid holds a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland. He is also an alum of the Council of Urban Professional Fellowship Institute.

Meghan supports BSR’s member companies within the consumer products sector. She focuses on healthcare and food, beverage, and agriculture.

Prior to joining BSR, Meghan worked in pharmaceutical advertising, managing strategic marketing activities for new-to-market products, emerging therapies, and well-established treatments for various medical issues. She also consulted for the Food and Agriculture Organization on strategic messaging and communications for programs focused on bolstering sustainability and practical solutions in food value chains via the reduction of food loss and waste. She also interned at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, where she focused on climate mitigation and reporting transparency.

Meghan has an Executive Master in Sustainability Leadership (EMSL) from Arizona State University and a BA in Communications (Journalism) from Temple University. She is a US Green Building Council-certified TRUE Zero Waste Advisor and has a Sustainable Resource Management Certification, accredited by the National Standards Board of the National Recycling Coalition.

Taylor supports BSR member companies across industries with a primary focus on human rights and sustainability management.

Prior to joining BSR, Taylor worked as an associate attorney for a boutique firm in Denver, dealing primarily with international trade issues. He also worked for The Code, an NGO based in Thailand, where he worked with tourism companies around the world to prevent sexual exploitation of children. Additionally, he is a Security Fellow with the Truman National Security Project.

Taylor holds a J.D. with a certificate in International Law from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, as well as certificates in Public and Private International Law from The Hague Academy of International Law and a B.A. in Political Science from St. Olaf College.

Nina works with BSR member companies across industries on business transformation projects, such as double materiality, business strategy, and goal setting. She has expertise in stakeholder engagement and integrating sustainability across the value chain. Additionally, Nina works with members on climate topics, including climate scenarios, climate risk, TCFD, climate transition plans, and net zero decarbonization. 

Nina joined BSR in 2019 and has worked across all industries, with a specific focus on working with energy and industrials companies. 

Prior to joining BSR, Nina worked with a mission-driven consumer products company that makes menstrual products for women. There, she helped to create a long-term strategy to establish its leadership in sustainability, social impact, and health. In her early career, Nina worked at an environmental health advocacy firm in Maine and collaborated with industry leaders to remove harmful chemicals from food products. She also worked at a landscape architecture firm, promoting climate resilience through parks in New York City.

Nina holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from the Yale School of Public Health, and a BA in Environmental Policy from Colby College.

Paul leads BSR’s Industrials and Transport and Logistics practices, helping companies to align innovative sustainability practices with business strategy and operations. Paul works with leaders in the manufacturing, automotive, freight, and aviation industries to put sustainability strategy into action.

Paul has over 25 years of industry experience in engineering and sustainability leadership roles. He has deep experience in product development, greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, sustainability reporting, and sustainability strategy. Previously, he founded an independent consultancy helping mid-size industrials get started on their sustainability journey.

Paul holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a MBA from Marquette University.

Olivia supports BSR’s Climate and Nature team by facilitating coordination across member initiatives, partner engagement, and high-impact convenings. She also provides analytical support for projects within BSR’s nature portfolio.

In addition, Olivia supports the Climate and Nature Integration Working Group, which helps companies across sectors develop roadmaps for integrating climate and nature strategies into a holistic, resilience-focused approach.

Prior to joining BSR, Olivia held government positions with the United States Secret Service, the Office of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and the New York State Assembly.

Olivia has a BA in Political Science with minors in Public Policy and History from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Steve serves as BSR’s Head of AI and Knowledge Management, strengthening BSR’s knowledge systems so they are connected and ready for AI, enabling staff through change management and practical guidance, and building internal AI tools that support BSR’s core work and future opportunities. In this role, Steve helps teams translate BSR’s expertise into usable, organization-wide capabilities—connecting people, content, and workflows.

Previously, Steve founded and led a generative AI sustainable shopping startup, spent six years at Amazon leading sustainable customer research, served as a behavioral scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and managed a wind tunnel at the University of Washington.

Steve holds a PhD in Policy Analysis from Pardee RAND Graduate School; an MS in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology; and a BS in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington.

Hansika works with BSR consumer product member companies on sustainability management projects.

Prior to joining BSR, Hansika managed apparel material and product development at Reebok. She also advised the senior leadership team on sustainability strategy and developed an internal sustainability education program. She has an extensive background in sustainable fashion, including designing a zero waste activewear collection, researching regenerative textile solutions, speaking at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit on achieving gender equality in the fashion industry, and consulting for a nonprofit supporting artisan communities in South America.

Hansika has a BS in Fiber Science and Apparel Design with a minor in Sustainability Sciences from Cornell University. She speaks English, Tamil, French, and Spanish. 

As part of the Financial Services team, Anne Marie works with BSR member companies to advance sustainability management and impact investment initiatives. 

Prior to joining BSR, Anne Marie was a fellow at impact investment fund, Etho Capital, where she developed methodologies for emissions accounting and conducted ESG screenings. She also worked as an environmental engineering researcher at Stanford University, analyzing cost-emissions tradeoffs for water utilities.

Anne Marie holds a BS in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from EPFL and an MS in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich. She is fluent in English, Italian, and French.

Saad Khan is an Associate on BSR's Financial Services team.

He lives in New York and grew up in India. He was previously an Associate Director on the Investments team at the College Board, where he deployed the internal impact-venture fund focused on education and workforce development, in addition to performing M&A and portfolio management for the endowment. Before that, he was an Investment Analyst at Rida Capital, where he focused on financial inclusion and FinTech in India.

He holds a BS in Finance from Mercy College.

Viktoriya is responsible for all areas relating to revenue recognition and some parts of revenue reporting. In addition, she oversees the Accounts Receivable and Project Accounting functions and develops and maintains practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely collections.

Viktoriya has extensive accounting and project accounting experience in the consumer goods, advertising, brand consulting, and medical industries.

Prior to joining BSR, she worked in different accounting roles at LG Electronics; North East Medical Services (NEMS), one of the largest nonprofit community health centers in the United States; and most recently at Landor, a brand consulting firm and global leader in brand consulting and design. She is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.

Viktoriya holds a B.A. in International Relations from St. Petersburg Institute for International Economic Relations, Economics, and Law.

As part of BSR’s finance team, Julie is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting activities, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, the general ledger, project-based accounting, grant and fund accounting, purchasing, and fixed assets.

Prior to joining BSR, Julie worked as a Controller at a nonprofit that provided recreational and camping activities for disabled people and therapy to children with developmental delays. There, she rebuilt the finance department during the pandemic and implemented software solutions and processes to strengthen internal controls and improve efficiencies. Prior to that, Julie spent eight years as a financial statement auditor in public accounting and then seven years at an outsourced accounting service company working with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Julie has a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Public Accounting and a minor in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. Julie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Ariela works with BSR member companies across various industries on sustainability management, with a focus on climate change and human rights.

Prior to joining BSR, Ariela was an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps fellow with Sustainable Jersey, where she helped New Jersey municipalities implement energy efficiency projects. Previously, she worked as a consultant with Amnesty International, where she helped develop the organization’s platform on tear gas. Ariela was also a research assistant for the Mexican Ministry of Health, where she researched the impacts of changing climactic conditions on dengue. Ariela’s experiences focus on the intersection of climate change, human rights, and health.

Ariela holds an MPA from Columbia University in Environmental Science and Policy as well as a B.S. in Society and Environment and B.A. in Public Health from UC Berkeley. She is a native Spanish speaker and is proficient in French.

Ashley serves as a manager on BSR’s Inclusive Business team.

She drives partnerships and collaborative engagements with philanthropic organizations including foundations and nonprofits to harness business influence to achieve a more just and sustainable world, with a focus on advancing gender equity. She also supports businesses in building inclusive organizations and navigating emerging trends/flashpoints through direct engagement.

Ashley also supports BSR’s industry teams with sustainability management, particularly in the food, beverage, and agriculture sectors.

Prior to joining BSR, Ashley worked primarily in agriculture and distribution, food service management and hospitality, where she developed programs creating sustainable food systems and addressed food insecurity and basic needs access.

Ashley holds a M.P.S. in Sustainable Development and a B.S. in Environmental Law and Policy from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in association with Syracuse University, along with a Certificate of Advanced Studies of Sustainable Enterprise from Syracuse University.

Diane advises private equity firms and global investors on integrating sustainability and impact into core investment and operating decisions.

As Global Lead for BSR’s Financial Services practice, she sets the strategic direction for the firm’s private markets work and partners with investment and corporate leaders on impact fund strategy and design. Her work spans the full investment lifecycle, from due diligence through post-investment value creation and exits. She also contributes to BSR’s AI strategy, bringing a systems-thinking approach to the intersection of AI, sustainability, and organizational transformation.

Previously, Diane was a Senior Manager at Ramboll Strategic Sustainability Advisory and held roles in corporate strategy, impact investing, and economic policy at the World Bank Group, the International Finance Corporation, and the International Monetary Fund.

She holds a joint Global MBA from Columbia Business School, London Business School, and Hong Kong University. She also earned a Master’s in Management and Business Economics from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Political Economy from UC Berkeley.

Kayla collaborates with BSR member companies on projects centering on the corporate responsibility to respect human rights, focusing on companies within the consumer sectors industry cluster. Her areas of expertise include energy transition, anti-corruption, and gender.

Prior to joining BSR, Kayla spent several years advising multinational companies and investors on human rights as an Adviser at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, during which she also served as a Lecturer in Law at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on Business and Human Rights (BHR), international human rights, anti-corruption, and EU law. Previously, she worked on global anti-corruption investigations and cross-border white collar litigations as an Associate Attorney at the international law firm King & Spalding LLP, where she was the founding member of the firm's BHR initiative.

Kayla holds a JD and a Certificate in Global Human Rights from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, which included course work at the Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement, and a BA, Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude from Tulane University.

Kelly works with BSR member companies to develop sustainability strategies, assess human rights impacts, and engage rightsholders. Her areas of expertise include modern slavery and anti-human trafficking and the rights of workers and communities in the energy transition. Kelly works with companies across industries, including renewable energy and extractives and consumer products.

Prior to joining BSR, Kelly worked as a consultant on various human rights projects, including issues of modern slavery and labor rights in global supply chains. Kelly has also worked extensively on women’s rights, including two years leading a women’s economic empowerment program in Surkhet, Nepal and four years working with the United Nations Foundation on international reproductive health and rights.

Kelly holds an MA in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University.

Bringing her expertise as a business and human rights attorney, Kindra leads BSR's work at the intersection of finance and human rights. 

Kindra has nearly 15 years of experience in advancing human rights, social and environmental sustainability, and access to remedy within the financial sector. She advises financial institutions and their corporate clients and investees on innovative solutions to prevent and address human rights risks and impacts on the ground, including through stakeholder engagement and the development of grievance mechanisms. 

Previously, Kindra consulted for the International Finance Corporation and worked with clients at PwC to integrate best practices into their corporate governance frameworks. She also worked for the US Senate and served for five years as the Policy Director for a global nonprofit, advocating with communities for environmental and social protections and access to remedy in international finance. In addition, Kindra has lived and worked for nonprofits in Argentina, Haiti, and Peru on access to justice and corporate accountability.    

Kindra obtained her law degree at Boston College and holds a MA in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Lucie leads BSR’s creative design work, shaping the organization’s visual identity across all platforms.

With expertise in art direction and graphic design, Lucie has extensive experience in developing and executing impactful designs for presentations, reports, marketing materials, websites, direct email campaigns, and events. She ensures brand consistency and brings a storytelling approach to her work, effectively translating BSR’s mission and values into compelling visuals.

Previously, Lucie collaborated with international organizations and NGOs, including Oxfam, World Vision, IRC, WWF, and Fairtrade, among others, to design reports, social media campaigns, and publications. Her portfolio includes projects focused on sustainability, humanitarian aid, and social impact, reflecting her dedication to using design as a tool for positive change.

Lucie holds a BA and MS in Art Direction and Graphic Design from ALBA University in Lebanon, and she is fluent in English, French, Arabic, and Armenian.

As an office coordinator, Aisha manages a diverse array of administrative tasks. Her responsibilities include supporting meetings, overseeing the acquisition of office supplies, and arranging fun events. She is also responsible for managing BSR vendors' relationship and providing logistic support.

Prior to joining BSR, she has gained four years of valuable administrative experience, excelling in cultivating an environment of seamless collaboration and productivity.

Aisha has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with concentration in Business and a minor in Mathematics from St. John’s University. She speaks English and Urdu.

Ife works with BSR member companies on human rights and technology issues and brings several years of experience across privacy, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI) policy. She has conducted several human rights impact ​assessments for companies developing or deploying digital technologies, including generative and agentic AI, and worked with businesses to implement mitigations. ​

Ife has worked on responsible AI issues, including children’s digital rights and age verification processes or policies. She has conducted research on the impacts of AI technologies and social media platforms on children’s development and self-actualization, privacy, and safety. She has also supported the development of AI regulatory and strategic frameworks in the U.S. and Sub-Saharan Africa. Ife has conducted research and published papers and guidelines on responsible development, deployment, and monitoring of AI technologies. ​

Prior to joining BSR, Ife worked on privacy, data protection, and consumer protection issues. She also worked as an attorney, providing legal advice to multinational companies in the extractive, energy, telecommunications, and financial technology industries.​

Ife holds a Master of Development Practice degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a law degree from the University of Manchester, England.

Jacob leads BSR’s Sustainable Futures Lab, a new practice using strategic foresight techniques to help businesses engage with emerging issues that are reshaping the global landscape.

Before joining BSR, Jacob was the lead futurist in the New York office of Forum for the Future, where he used scenario planning and other futures techniques to develop sustainability strategy and drive innovation for leading businesses, foundations, and multistakeholder groups. Prior to that he worked at Adaptive Edge, a boutique strategic foresight consultancy, on collaborative scenario planning. Jacob began his career doing human rights research and advocacy at Human Rights First and the Center for Economic and Social Rights. He speaks English and French.

Jacob holds an M.B.A. in Sustainability from Presidio Graduate School and a B.A. in History from the University of Chicago. 

Andrei supports the management of BSR’s Collaborative Initiatives portfolio and provides dedicated assistance to select initiatives. He also contributes to research, communications, administration, and logistics for BSR’s Collaborations team, ensuring efficient and effective collaboration of BSR members and partners across all issues and sectors.

Andrei has held a diversity of positions in the sustainability field, including roles focused on clean energy, conservation green buildings, and scenic preservation. He previously supported national volunteer and service programs at the U.S. Forest Service and, most recently, worked on corporate climate solutions at Conservation International, where he honed his knowledge of and passion for working with companies to reduce their footprints, uphold human rights, protect nature, and advance global sustainability goals.

Andrei holds a BA in Environmental Studies and Comparative Government from Wesleyan University.

Elisa works with companies across sectors on sustainability management, human rights, and developing sustainable supply chains, among other topics.

Her areas of expertise include leading site-level Human Rights Impact Assessments, stakeholder and community engagement, conflict-affected and high-risk areas, and gender. Elisa works with BSR’s global member network, and those in Latin and South America in particular.  

Prior to joining BSR, Elisa worked as liaison to the United Nations on sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender issues. She has worked extensively in Latin America and the Caribbean on improving policy and supporting social movements to advance gender equality at national and regional levels. Elisa has also managed projects in East Africa on improving the supply chain for contraceptives.

Elisa holds a first-class honors MA in Gender, Society, and Representation from the University College of London and a BA in Economics and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Tufts University. Elisa is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Johanna leads the global Operations team, overseeing cross-functional collaboration, team strategy and planning, and systems and processes. She is responsible for metrics and reporting and for internal processes related to BSR’s single-company consulting work. She also leads BSR’s project staffing function.

Prior to joining BSR, Johanna worked in both legal and grant administration.

Johanna holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mollie is BSR’s Social Media and Digital Manager and is based out of the San Francisco office. In this role, Mollie leads the development and execution of BSR’s social media and digital strategy and supports the strategic planning of targeted marketing campaigns.

Prior to joining BSR, Mollie led her own strategic communications firm helping nonprofits and social enterprises to more effectively tell their story and scale their impact. Her areas of expertise range from entrepreneurship and social innovation to clean energy and human trafficking.

Mollie holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a BA from Vassar College in Political Science.

Alexa works with the Marketing and Communications team, developing editorial and social media content, marketing materials, and other digital communications. 

Prior to joining BSR, Alexa managed communications, partnerships, and campaigns at the advocacy organization, Remake, where she developed high-impact content, resources, and multi-stakeholder initiatives to advance labor rights and climate justice in the global garment industry. She also worked with the international legal consultancy, Beyond Human Rights Compliance, to develop a technical guidance for fashion companies on meaningful stakeholder engagement. She has worked closely with frontline worker communities, civil society organizations, global apparel companies, and government agencies to facilitate cross-sector collaboration on intersectional sustainability solutions. 

Alexa holds a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management and Bachelor’s degrees in Fashion Design and Literary Studies from The New School.

Merry works with BSR member companies and internal teams to ensure quality membership communications and delivery of relevant content, events, advisory services and opportunities to collaborate. She also supports membership strategy, recruitment, engagement, and delivery to ensure communications and campaigns align with current and prospective member needs.

Prior to joining BSR, Merry was a Market Development Associate at the International Foundation for Valuing Impacts. She developed marketing and educational content, communicating the value proposition of impact valuation methodologies to sustainable business leaders. Merry also worked as a Senior Analyst at a global development and implementation firm, Resonance Global, where she supported public-private partnerships and activities between global development agencies and Fortune 500 companies to advance the SDGs. Through her prior experience at various global development firms and nonprofits, Merry brings over five years of experience in relationship management, business development, and project management.  

Merry holds a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, where she concentrated on international development.  

Len curates BSR’s ever-developing body of institutional knowledge.  He manages BSR’s document management and internal collaboration systems, connecting our offices worldwide with our previous accomplishments and current thought leadership.

Before joining BSR, Len worked at KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice, maintaining collections to support the company’s national office.

Len holds a BA in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and a MLS from St. John’s University in New York.

Chris works at the intersection of human rights and technology, helping companies integrate human rights considerations into their products, services, and business operations.​

Chris specializes in advising BSR companies on implementing emerging technology regulations covering the impacts of emerging technologies on people and society, including risk assessments under the EU Digital Services Act and UK Online Safety Act. He has also led company-wide human rights assessments and various reviews of companies' human rights and online safety practices.

Prior to joining BSR, Chris spent eight years working to advance the rights to freedom of expression and privacy in the ICT sector, leading policy advocacy for over 90 global ICT companies, digital rights and press freedom groups, academics, and investors at the Global Network Initiative. He also facilitated independent, third-party assessment of ICT companies' human rights commitments under the GNI Principles.​ He previously worked for NGOs focused on post-conflict recovery and Middle East affairs. ​

Chris holds a BA in International Affairs from James Madison University.

Jen serves as a director for BSR's Inclusive Business practice.

She is a strategy development and implementation expert at complex health and humanitarian organizations with 20+ years of experience. At BSR, she relaunched the Inclusive Business practice to meet the needs of companies navigating shifting regulation, policy, and litigation, alongside evolving business needs in the U.S. and around the globe.  

Prior to joining BSR, Jen directed investments at the Tara Health Foundation to advance gender and racial equity through the private sector, including historic progress on paid family and medical leave, reproductive health, and other workplace protections. Before working in philanthropy, she founded the corporate relations program at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She also managed the disaster fundraising team at the American Red Cross, coordinating large scale efforts to responsibly raise and deploy hundreds of millions of dollars. She is frequently cited in business press on flashpoint topics and is an advisor to Gauge.ai, the University of Michigan’s Erb Institute, and GoFundMe’s Compassion Leadership Network. 

Jen holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is based in the greater Boston area with her family, where she also plays cello in a community orchestra.
